My name is Jacquelyn Belock; I’m a dedicated wife and mother, EWU alumna, Paleontologist, and active member of our community. I am raising all boys with my husband Kyle in the beautiful south end of Cheney, WA. I love teaching courses in Dinosaur Paleontology at SFCC, where I am blessed with the opportunity to educate students of all ages and backgrounds. I am also an engaged member of our community, serving as the Vice Chair of the Planning Commission. When I’m not out advocating for our community, you can find me fishing with my boys at Fish Lake, in my driveway restoring my ‘94 Ford Bronco, or tending to my small vegetable garden.
My husband and I moved to Cheney in 2010 after his service in the US Army. During the time we have lived here, Cheney has shown measurable growth. While larger businesses continue to move into the West Plains, I am dedicated to putting the needs of our residents and local businesses first. As the city continues to expand, it is important that the parts that make Cheney the best city to live in, are preserved. I will accomplish this by:
- Fighting for low-income and affordable housing for all of Cheney; families, individuals, and students.
- Advocating for sensible zoning.
- Supporting much needed updates to our infrastructure.
- Supporting updates and expansions to recreational spaces.
- Promoting a thriving and vibrant Downtown.
- Listening to the residents of Cheney; working to support their vision of Cheney.
As a member of our City of Council, I will continue to be a vocal supporter of Cheney’s residents of all backgrounds and economic levels, small businesses, community leaders, and everyday people like you and me!
